Phil Kessel was on the ice further proving the correlation between Bozak’s offensive success and Kessel’s on-ice presence.

"Future Penguins Tyler Bozak scored twice against the Penguins"

It seems you are pretty confident Bozak ends up in Pittsburg, I would not be surprised at all if it happens. What kind of a trade to see happening?

I'm not sure. I actually don't really understand why the Leafs would trade Bozak, I feel like he's more valuable to the Leafs depth than trading a UFA for futures or another rental.

Agree with this, they're trying to win this year.

i don't think babcock cares for him.

but any bozak trade would hinge on another trade for a replacement imo.

Murray, Hornqvist, and Kuhnhackl all practicing. Murray in the starter's net. Lines look like this:

Guentzel-Crosby-Sheary
Rust-Malkin-Kessel
Simon-Sheahan-Hornqvist
Hagelin-Rowney-Reaves
Kuhnhackl extra

That just looks deeper then anything we've had all year if Simon and Sheahan can keep playing well. Sid and the kids, Malkin and Kessel, a legit 3rd line, and Hags to help the 4th.

I still want GMJR to pull off another miracle trade. I'm still not comfortable with the bottom 6. Sheahan is underwhelming. He's playing well lately, but still he's "eh" in my book. I need a lot more to feel comfortable on game nights. I hate the feeling of "i wonder who will show up tonight?"

I don't think the Leafs are trying to win this year. They'll obviously take it, but they don't seem to be going all out for it.

I think in any Bozak trade Sheehan is going the other way. I can't imagine the Leafs trading him without a solid center going back in return. Given Bozak isn't a favorite of Babcock, he could favor reuniting with Sheehan. Babcock also made comments about how he wished they could have re-signed Huntwick, maybe they would like him in return also.

On paper, I think there is a deal that would make sense for both the Pens and Leafs. But I just don't know if either wants to help the other out because at the end of the day, they are both competing for the cup this year.

I don't think they signed Marleau and Hainsey thinking they'll be better later in their contracts. Bozak and JVR as UFAs due raises not to mention their young guns coming up.

It's not like their window will close, but they have a more talented roster this year then they might for the next couple (unless the cap does jump that much).

Not sure how much that would help us. Sheahan may be regaining some decent offensive ability with 3g 8points in his last 12. Bozak is poor defensively. I'd rather wait on that.

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting it. Just mentioning that for it to make sense, TO would most likely need a C in return.

JR has been patient, but as it stands now, the Pens are on the outside looking in for a playoff spot. They need to make a move sooner than later. I wouldn't be at all shocked if there is another deal out there that is completely off the radar. RNH would be my #1 target, but who knows what players are available off the record.

OK, I agree that makes sense for Toronto.

I really don't know who is out there, just not a lot of sellers. I really don't know if RNH is available.

Our division is just too good right now. Not giving anyone the margin to experiment you would like.

Watched the Pitt/Tor game in full, and I thought that outside of about half of the first period, the Pens controlled the strong majority of play, and it seemed like the puck was in the leafs zone for the majority of the game.

All good, it's hockey, sometimes you can control the game and still lose. But what drives me nuts (being a Canadian) is reading the recaps and watching the hockey highlights the next morning... every single one acted like the Leafs dominated. Not one recap mentioned that the Pens were the better team but lost to opportunism.

The End.

Bring on the hate.

Need this game. Like before win 1 lose 1, win 1 lose 1. Great to think the team is starting to gel a little, so hopefully they can play Pens hockey again.

Where is Trump? Let's make the Pens great again!

I thinks that's it Coga, all you'll get. That type of blog usually comes out before the game, but thankfully there's no sign of that & no kiss of death blog!

We might get the obligatory good/bad fun/dull graph after though where you can see who had fun & who didn't.

isn't sheahan a 4th line C? is that the reason they're is still an need for an upgrade at C?

pens and leafs still don't line up as good trade partners imo. leafs will ask for dumolin, pens will tell them to (frank) themselves.
